It started at the gym.

Not the most romantic place, maybe — but that's where I met my wife. And somewhere in those early days, I picked up a camera and pointed it at her. Nothing posed. Nothing planned. Just a second I wanted to keep.

That one photo did something to me. It wasn't the lighting or the composition that made me fall for it — it was that it was real. A second I couldn't stop looking at, because it looked like how it felt to love her.

I've spent the last 9 years chasing that same second, over and over, for other people.

That's the whole idea behind 7:7 Photography. Weddings are full of the moments everyone expects — the vows, the first dance, the toast. But hiding in between all of that are the real ones: a laugh nobody planned, a hand held a little tighter, a look between two people who think no one's watching. Those are the seconds I'm there for. The ones that are true.

I've been doing this on the East Coast for nine years now, and it never gets old — because every couple has their own version of that second at the gym. My job is just to be paying attention when it happens.
